Will Facebook Game Shows beat HQ Trivia

The HQ Trivia app has been on a steady climb in popularity over the last year. The concept is great and understandably popular. It's the world of professional game shows made available to everyone. Not only can you compete in a real live game show on your phone, but you can win real money. The app has sponsors like Nike allowing them to shell out large amounts of winnings to trivia winners. It's simple, get 12 questions correct, get paid. Payments are maid through Paypal and average $10-$12 per winner. This isn't exactly going to pay the mortgage, but getting actual money to play a game on your phone is a pretty sweet deal. Hq Trivia stocks have continued to rise, but Facebook looks to stop that. Let's be real. This is what Facebook does. They are not an innovative companny. they are an opportunistic company that allows others to innovate and then take their ideas and improve on them. Remember MySpace? The fact is that Zuckerberg has never come up with anything origin...

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Movie; Reunion or Reboot What the Future may Hold

Buffy the vampire Slayer is one of the most iconic series of all time. With such a loyal fanbase, the audience would definitely be there for more Slayer action. When reboots were all the rage, BTVS was mentioned many times much to the dismay of fans everywhere. There was talk of a new incarnation without original cast and without Joss Wheedon. Of course Buffy fans would have none of this. In recent times fan nostalgia has brought about the return of classic series such as Will and Grace and Roseanne. It seems as if reboots are out and resurrections are in (except for the impending disaster of a Charmed reboot.) So Fans are asking could Buffy come back to the small screen? Realistically, probably not. As much as we would love to see the Scooby Gang again, there are several problems with making that happen. First of all, it would be hard to get the cast all back for a regular series. Allyson Hannigan's career took off after the original run of the series and she might not be read...

13 Reasons Why Season 3. Will it Happen? Why it Shouldn't

13 Reasons Why was a compelling story both as a book and a Netflix Original Series. Season 2 hit the streaming service May 2018 to a divided audience. Fans of the series have been waiting to see what happens next, but some people (like the author of this post) feel that follow ups work against what was great about the original. What really made season one stand out was the heavy reality of the story and the finality of the end. Watching the series finale left me with lasting effects creating an impact no TV show has before. Throughout the series you get to know Hannah Baker and grow to love her character. You know how her life comes to an end, but, much like suicidal people in real life, can't imagine that she would do that. The whole story is about showing you that everyone has struggles we don't understand, and that every action has a consequence. As I watched the series, I expected a plot twist where she wasn't really dead and it was all someone's hospital bed fe...

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer": Things You May Not Know About Everyone's Favorite Slayer

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was an iconic series which had a huge influence on television as well as on society. What really made the show stand out was that while it had themes of the supernatural and even science-fiction, "Buffy" was at its heart a show about life. The name "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" sounded like a cheesy B-movie, but in reality it was one of the most intelligent and thought-provoking shows on the air. In fact "Buffy" was so innovative and philosophical that it has been studied in classrooms the same as any classic literature. However, the series didn't begin the way we came to know it. From the small beginning to the lasting impact, there are some interesting things you might not know about "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Sarah Michelle Geller almost wasn't Buffy That's right, Sarah Michelle Gellar's Iconic portrayal of Buffy Summers almost didn't happen. Gellar auditioned and read for different pa...

Celtic Mythology : The Banshee

One of the most well know players in Celtic mythology, the Banshee is linked to death and mourning. The sound of her wailing is said to signify a recent death or to foretell of a forthcoming one. The name is derived from the word bean-sidhe which translates into fairy woman or spirit woman. She is generally depicted as a fair haired woman with an incorporeal appearance. Variations of the Story: In original Mythology, the story went that the banshee was a fairy woman who would appear and sing a mournful song at a funeral. Later variations of the tale say that she was not a fairy, but rather the spirit of a murdered woman who would shriek and howl a mournful note to predict an oncoming death. It is said the the banshee will walk around the outside of a house when someone inside is about to die. Most stories describe the banshee as wearing white, but some place her in garments of red or green. Also she is depicted in some variations as brushing her long hair with a silver comb. The comb i...

What is Shinto? An Overview of Ancient Japanese Mythology Spiritualism, Mysticism, and the Kami

Shinto began in ancient times as a shamanistic practice of nature worship much like the early druids. As outside cultural and spiritual influences came to Japan, what started as a loosely formed nature cult grew into a religion that has acquired many followers and greatly impacted world culture. Shintoism is a religion that is strongly connected to teachings of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. Shinto belief borrows much from the teachings of these sister religions, but still it remains unique in its structure. Without great study of Shintoism, one could easily see the influence from Buddhist and Toaist temples by looking at a Shinto shrine. In Japan it is common to see statues of Koma-inu placed outside of Shinto shrines. Koma-inu are guardians against evil that strongly resemble the Chinese guardian lions found outside Buddhist temples. To further show the importance of Chinese Taoism in the inspiration for Shinto beliefs, the word Shinto adopts the Chinese word Tao which translate...
